Nawaz Sharif's bail extended till October 26
The Islamabad High Court has extended the security bail of Muslim League (N) leader and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif till October 26.
Nawaz Sharif appeared in the Islamabad High Court from the accountability court to surrender in the Avenfield and Al-Azizia references.
Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb heard the petitions.
Nawaz Sharif's lawyer Azam Nazir Tarar came to the rostrum and said that in simple words these appeals are requests to restore, on which the Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court said that now we have to issue a notice on this and listen to NAB.
Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb said that one thing is clear, Kurds, you will go according to law.
Azam Nazir Tarar said that Nawaz Sharif was not deliberately absent. Nawaz Sharif went abroad with the permission of the court, we have been submitting medical reports in the court.
Chief Justice Islamabad High Court remarked that Nawaz Sharif's custody was under this court, he went to another court, on which Azam Nazir Tarar said that we had informed this court about the relief from the other court.
Azam Nazir Tarar said that the situation was different before Article 10A of the Constitution, on which Justice Amir Farooq said that Article 10A also contains the decision of the Hayat Bakhsh case.
He remarked that the revival of appeals is not a matter of routine, you have to satisfy yourself as to why you were absent from the court.
Azam Nazir Tarar said that the NAB court terminated the status of the advertisement. Nawaz Sharif has seen many hardships during all this time, Nawaz Sharif's mother and wife died during this time.
Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb said that all the blame is placed on the courts, look at the conduct of NAB, take instructions from the chairman NAB that why are you wasting the court's time?
Justice Amir Farooq remarked that if NAB thinks that the references were wrongly filed, then they should withdraw them.
Azam Nazir Tarar said that it is too soon to regret. Do not do this, many accusations were made against Nawaz Sharif, Nawaz Sharif will be made a leader by the judiciary and the constitution.
Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb inquired that when NAB is not opposing anything, then how about appeals? He directed the Prosecutor General to take instructions from the Chairman NAB and inform us.
Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb remarked to tell us clearly so that we can do something else after giving a verdict.
Chief Justice of Islamabad questioned that they are asking if NAB wants to arrest Nawaz Sharif? To which the Prosecutor General replied that no, we do not want to arrest Nawaz Sharif.
The Chief Justice inquired whether NAB has any objection to the extension of Nawaz Sharif's security bond. To which the Prosecutor General NAB replied that no, we have no objection.
The Islamabad High Court has issued a notice to NAB on the applications to revive the appeals of Nawaz Sharif.
Instruction of court staff to vacate the courtroom
The court staff was instructed to vacate the court room for the hearing of Nawaz Sharif's case.
Court staff had said that the bomb disposal squad would not clear security until the courtroom was cleared.
Islamabad High Court Bar President Naveed Malik also requested the lawyers to vacate the court room.
Atta Tarar also requested the lawyers and PML-N leaders to vacate the courtroom for security clearance.
It should be noted that certain lawyers and 30 court reporters are allowed to enter the courtroom during the hearing of Nawaz Sharif's case.
Question from journalists to Nawaz Sharif
The journalist asked Nawaz Sharif whether he will participate in the election. Mian Nawaz Sharif smiled in response to the journalist's question.
The journalist asked whether the decision of the Supreme Court regarding military courts is good.
Nawaz Sharif pointed to the judges' chairs and said, "The court is coming."
Nawaz Sharif's bail
The Islamabad High Court had approved Nawaz Sharif's protective bail till date.
The court had ordered to prevent Nawaz Sharif from being arrested till today, while NAB had not objected to Nawaz Sharif getting protective bail.
A hearing was also held today on the appeals against the conviction of Nawaz Sharif in the NAB references.
The cases of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif were heard after 2.30 pm, the case was heard by the special division bench after the regular bench.
Nawaz Sharif left for Murree after appearing in court
Leader of Muslim League (N) and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif left for Murree.
Nawaz Sharif appeared in the Islamabad High Court on a petition related to Al-Azizia and Avonfield.
Chief Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Mian Gul Hassan heard the case.
After appearing in the court, Nawaz Sharif left to stay at his residence in Murree.
According to sources, Nawaz Sharif will appear in the Islamabad High Court from Murree on the morning of October 26.
